You can tell this isn’t one of those chain lodges. This is a family owned place. How can you tell? First, the customer service was AMAZING! So polite and helpful! Second, the cleanliness! These people REALLY took pride into their lodge. I have NEVER seen a place as homey and clean in my entire life. Also, the location was amazing! We were less than 10 minutes from Garden of the Gods and getting to the Manitou Springs was a breeze. We got to our bedrooms and we see these clunky looking a/c units, we think, “oh god, do these work?” Yes! They work so well we got up in the middle of the night to turn them down because we didn’t realize they had such power. And in 100-degree weather, it’s such a relief to know the a/c units work! Also, the showers were spotless. I know someone from our group needed another towel and it was so easy, they walked over and boom, no waiting, no hassle, just a friendly “Here you go! Let us know if you need anything else.” The pool looked clean, but we didn’t go in it, we were only there for a night and were exhausted from the day. We did have the continental breakfast which was pretty typical. Make your own waffles, coffee, fruit, a toaster, and bread. Pretty usual stuff. Also, we were half-way between their two wifi points so we didn’t get internet because neither was strong enough, but it just made us go to sleep earlier, which is what we needed anyway after a long day of touring Colorado Springs.
Pros: Everything! The customer service was the best I’ve ever seen. Everyone was friendly and helpful and eager without being overbearing! It was so clean!
Cons: The wi-fi, but if you’re there in CO springs you probably aren’t going to be using that much anyway.
Location: Garden of the Gods, Manitou Springs, Manitou Cliff Dwellings, Miramont Castle (and Victorian High Noon Tea), Pikes Peak Cog Railway, Broadmoor, Seven Falls

Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort was a wonderful experience. We stayed two nights and loved the place. Breakfast was delicious with numerous options. Outdoor and indoor seating was available. They had numerous bikes and unicycles available for guests to play with. There was also a nice and clean pool complete with pool toys, a sand volleyball court and lots of picnic tables. There is a bar on-site with a regular happy hour. Parking is available close to the rooms. All rooms were decorated in a bike theme and we’re cute and clean. They were also conscious of COVID-19 risks and were even sanitizing the pens! Everyone was very friendly and I highly recommend it!

Perfect place to stay if you’re looking for a safe, comfortable location right next to the Garden of the Gods and Pike’s Peak! It has everything you need and the hosts are very helpful and communicate quickly. Definitely worth the price and very cozy! Thank you Buffalo Lodge!

What a GEM! We stayed here a few weeks ago at the start of our vacation in Colorado. The staff was super friendly, helpful and made us feel very welcomed. The rooms were remodeled and very clean (cute bicycle themes). Breakfast was nicely done. They have bar in the lobby area with yummy drinks, ping pong table, etc. They also offered bikes for free to ride. Overall, highly recommend. We were happily surprised.

We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed every moment. If you are near Manitou Springs, drop into the Buffalo Lodge. You will get a sense of the family atmosphere they have created. And if you stay, remember this is an historic, rustic place. It’s beauty shines through the owner’s vision and the staffs efforts. Oh yeah, and borrow a bicyle and ride to town. You won’t be disappointed.

Loved this place. Our room was big and the bed was comfortable. They have bicycles that you can ride and at night the sky view its breathtaking. The location is perfect and close to the garden of the Gods. Amazing people and always so happy to help. Would love to go back in the future.

The owners are fantastic they greeted us with a smile and warmth they explained that they were just reopening from the winter season. But the room was gorgeous woke up to the birds chirping and watched a woodpecker pecking away peaceful feeling would recommend to the outdoors type of people.

Great staff and clean facility. Bicycle resort that is a great base for Pikes Peak adventures. Perfect location and very close to biking and hiking trails. Staff will help with planning local adventures and will help get you headed to the right spot. Shopping and restaurants walking are distance away.

I went to the bar at the Buffalo Lodge with some friends who live within walking distance. The bar has a nice selection of local beers, and they have a bunch of games like Jenga, chess, Farkle, etc. to play. The owner is really nice and very friendly. She chatted with us for a little bit. We had a lovely time, and I look forward to going back. Definitely a local gem, and I would highly recommend checking it out.

Large, lovely room!! Very comfortable and quiet — we enjoyed our 2-night stay very much. Loved the lodge with the small lounge and free morning breakfast. We even saw a bobcat as we were loading up to leave!! It was a great taste of old Colorado Springs/Manitou! A nice change from the standard “run-of-the-mill” motel room.

This little hotel is in a great location! Very close to Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak, and has many restaurants and other stores nearby as well. New owners had just taken over at the time of our stay, and they were doing well to get things running their way. Our lodge was at the far end of the grounds, but still walkable to the pool and main lodge with parking right in front of our room. The room was a good size and cozy with easy to adjust air conditioning. The only issue we ran into was that the wifi didn’t work in our room because of our distance away from the main lodge (which the owner had warned us about) but it was easy to connect to the wifi in the main lodge when we needed it. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and things to do and see. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to retreat after a day of taking in all Colorado Springs has to offer.

My boyfriend and I planned a last minute trip out to Colorado and we fell in love with the Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort. The location is AMAZING, you can bike to Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peaks isn’t too far, and you’re close to the heart of the town.
Management recently did renovations to our rooms and they are absolutely adorable. The theme is consistent throughout and the decor is precious. We were going to be a late check in, our light outside our room would be on and key under the door. However, the owner was there to greet us and she one of the most friendly person we encountered on the trip.
We came in for breakfast and got suggestions on what to do for the day. The whole staff was so open and just wanted to get to know us to help us plan accordingly. The even held an event for the community, a cute little pumpkin patch with food and a bonfire. You can tell they want to help visitors and residents.
We can’t wait to be back in CO and back at the Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort.

Heaven on Earth. I stumbled across this wonderful place during my ride and experienced amazing service from Katherine. Visiting from San Antonio, TX she was exactly what I was use to. Amazing customer service, warm, caring, funny, and just a beautiful person inside and out. This is a MUST visit – Period.

This is a wonderful place to stay if you like staff remembering your names, a place where families or friends can get rooms close together, and a quiet retreat from the fast pace of life. The new owners have a wonderful vision for the Lodge and we look forward to a return trip to see what they have done with this quaint motel. We booked a room using Expedia and so did my brother; they opted for the kitchenette and that’s what we will get next time. Our room was basic and fit our needs, so if you need a comfortable place to sleep, this will be fine for you. If you need more elbow room, consider the kitchenette.
Pros: Location, easy to get to everywhere we needed to be, friendly, helpful staff.
Cons: Some of the furnishings/mattresses needed to be repaired or replaced, but I’d give the new owners a chance to get after it.
Location: It’s close to Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City.
