PROSPECTUS 14th ANNUAL ROLL BIKE ART FESTIVAL “RAWKUS AND ROLL” A fundraiser for Bike Colorado Springs ROLL BIKE in Colorado Springs, Colorado is hosting a juried national exhibit of artwork for the 14th ANNUAL ROLL BIKE ART FESTIVAL. Artwork in all mediums and concerning any themes related to bicycles will be considered. The 2018 theme is “RAWKUS AND ROLL”. EXHIBITION DATES: SAT., MAY 12 - FRI., SEP. 7, 2018 OPENING RECEPTION: SAT., MAY 12, 5 - 8 PM, 2018 AT THE BUFFALO LODGE BICYCLE RESORT, 2 EL PASO BLVD., COLORADO SPRINGS, CO, 80904 This exhibit will explore themes surrounding the visual appeal of the bicycle, its mechanical simplicity, the rotation of the wheel, the bicycle’s role in social intimacy, the evolution of bicycle form, personal expressions of the ride, association of the bicycle with the women’s movement, the risks of the road, fitness and health, decorative value, and the role of the bicycle in building community. Collectible, historic, or custom bikes are welcome FOR ART BIKE, BUT MUST BE REMOVED BY MAY 19. OPEN TO ALL MEDIUMS. ENTRY FEE: Entry fee is $10 for up to four submissions. Children under age 12 are free. All entries must be completed and repurposed entries must be clean at the time of submission. Incomplete or inaccurate entry forms may disqualify the artist from ROLL BIKE. "Your artwork will be on display during the peak tourist season and will be viewed by bicyclists and tourists from all over the world." Each entry form must contain name, address, phone, media of work, dimensions, title, and price (or NFS) for EACH work submitted. All work must be clean, sturdy, and wired to hang or it may disqualify the artist from ROLL BIKE. Large, heavy, or delicate pieces will require extra effort to install. The artist will be responsible for installation, to provide for the safety of their original artwork. ELIGIBILITY: “RAWKUS AND ROLL” is open to all artists, national and international, working in any media. All forms of art are eligible.
